Esther Wojcicki, a journalist, experienced educator and a mother of three very successful children, shares her approach to parenting (and education) through a simple yet effective "TRICK" method. TRICK stands for Trust, Respect, Independence, Collaboration and Kindness, the five principles that can be applied from infancy and all the way through.
The book is full of real life practical examples from her parenting, grand-parenting and teaching experiences. The key message is to let children be, let them try, and let them play- this develops creativity, and with that their passions. Trust and respect children, and let them be independent. Success comes easier out of passion than out of fear. Collaboration, not only between the children but with the parents and teachers is another crucial element- "work with your children, not against them". All this is necessary for the benefit of the wider community, which we are an integral 3part of, and, well to make a world a better place. Wojcicki promotes the TRICK movement through her book, and we could not agree with her more.
